The South West Visitor Economy Hub is the product of extensive consultation with tourism businesses and organisations in your region, as well as Devon & Plymouth Chamber, Somerset Chamber of Commerce, Devon’s Top Attractions and PASC.
Developed with input from tourism businesses and key regional partners, the Hub is the first platform to bring real-time visitor insight to the South West. Share a little, learn a lot.
The South West Visitor Economy Hub is an online software tool that securely stores a vast range of data from many different sources and turns it into pictures and graphics that help tell a story.
The strength of the system is that unlike one-off surveys or data collection exercises, the Hub is continuously collecting data, every day, so that sector and visitor trends can be constantly tracked, and the changes understood.
In lots of ways! Firstly, you can log in from your desktop or smart device and see how the sector is changing, locally to you and further afield, in real time. Secondly, while you’re busy doing what you do best, running your business, the organisations that support you and the tourism economy can be using the data hub to make better decisions about marketing, planning, policy making and investing for the future. Click the questions below for more answers!
For the data in the system to be truly robust and give a complete picture, everyone needs to play their part. This means providing basic information about your business and updating that on a regular basis. No-one else will be able to see the data you put in except you, but when combined with all the other intelligence in the system each user will understand so much more, including being able to compare your performance with peers in your sector.
Very little. We send you a monthly email reminder with a link to add data via our app (phone or tablet), or web browser. It takes a minute or two at most.
Yes! As long as you’re a visitor economy business in Devon or Somerset and are happy to share some data (in confidence).
